FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM

Fly with us to teach, lead, and grow in a collaborative community that value a shared commitment to excellence in aviation training.

WHAT IS THE INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM?

The Pilots Collective Instructor Program empowers flight instructors through a balance of professional independence, collaborative leadership, and a strong mentorship culture. Instructors retain 100% of their earnings and play a key role in shaping the curriculum through mandatory biweekly meetings focused on instructional quality, safety, and alignment with Collective standards. New CFIs are selected through a peer-reviewed process, often following experience as ground instructors to ensure shared values and teaching consistency. The program fosters continuous professional development, shared decision-making, and a supportive environment where instructors grow as leaders while guiding the next generation of aviators.

INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITY & STUDENT SOURCING

The Pilots Collective does not assign or provide students. We intentionally support instructors who are self-driven and passionate about teaching. Instructors who build their student base through personal reputation, word of mouth, and community engagement. This ensures a stronger instructor-student connection and encourages meaningful involvement in the Collective.

INSTRUCTOR RAN COLLECTIVE

The Pilots Collective is built and operated by instructors, for instructors. Those who join have the opportunity to take on real responsibility by serving within an Operational Leadership Team (OLT), each focused on areas like curriculum, safety, events, or outreach. These instructor-led teams keep the Collective running day-to-day, ensuring decisions are made by the people who are actively teaching. It’s a structure that values your input, leadership, and commitment to aviation.

MANDATORY BIWEEKLY INSTRUCTOR MEETING

Biweekly meetings ensure every instructor has direct input and buy-in on the curriculum, safety standards, and policies being developed. They bring together insights from airline pilots, aircraft owners, mechanics, and others to inject real-world experience into our training approach. These sessions help us keep instruction relevant, collaborative, and goal-driven with the shared objective of guiding students from start to checkride within six months.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

At The Pilots Collective, we believe great instruction blends technical skill, real-world application, and mentorship. We emphasize teaching with clarity, patience, and professionalism, while treating students like teammates and friends, not just clients. Instructors are encouraged to bring in real-world experience to make training relevant and practical, helping students develop strong judgment, confidence, and safety habits. Our approach is collaborative, supportive, and rooted in the belief that aviation training should be both effective and personal.
